The Mera-Mera no Mi (Flame-Flame Fruit) is a Legendary Logia-type Devil Fruit that allows its eater to manipulate, produce, and turn into fire at will.

The fruit visually resembles a real-life dragon fruit, and can be easily discerned by its white and fire-like "scales".

This fruit is known for having extremely high AoE, DoT and knockback effects, making it a very defensive and even complimentary fruit that is best used in combination with a Fighting Style.

As a Logia-type, it grants the user a "Logia bar", which can be trained to dodge up to 20 non-Haki-infused physical attacks by draining it repeatedly.

Additionally, the fruit boosts Striker's speed from 95 to 150, making the user able to use the fastest ship in-game, not only that, but this fruit also boosts Dragon Claw and Vraels pipe to deal additional fire damage.

Showcase

Pros

  • As a Logia-type, it allows the user to dodge up to 20 non-Haki-infused physical attacks.
  • Has large AoE on most moves.
  • All attacks inflict one of the best burning DoT effects in the game, dealing, for an example, roughly half the damage of each Firefly.
  • Considered to be one of the best fruits in the game, along with Pika and Magu.
  • Amazing fruit for grinding due to high damage and AoE.
  • Average for PvP
  • Incredibly low cooldowns.
  • The user can fly and use moves, making it very effective for farming Sea Serpents/Krakens on open water, and doing Dungeons.
  • Flame Pillar is a strong move in PvP, as not only is it a block-break, the move cannot be cancelled during its cast (hyperarmor).
  • When used with Striker, you can achieve great speeds.
  • Boosts Dragon Claw and Vrael pipe

Cons

  • It only has 1 block-breaker not counting the Ultimate.
  • Very stamina consuming when compared to other fruits.
  • Has no combo extenders, all moves are combo enders, which forces the user to rely on either Fighting Styles or sword moves to combo extend.
  • Even though Flame Pillar is an amazing move to get out of combos or end the user's own combos, it leaves you in one place for a long time, allowing your opponent to use long range moves on you.
  • Dai Enkai: Entei is really easy to avoid in big spaces and can be blocked by Tekkai.
  • Fireflies and Hiken are VERY easily blockable and perfect blockable.
  • It only has 3 damaging moves, excluding the ultimate.

Tips & Tricks

  • Putting a lot of points in Devil Fruit is a good choice, as it makes up for the lack of combo extenders. Works very well with the low cooldown of Hiken, and the high burn damage that Mera has.
  • A basic but reliable combo with Mera is to do 4 M1s (hold space) + Fireflies (making sure to aim a bit to the left when you go into the air)
  • The way the user utilizes Flame Pillar can really make or break their matches. Even holding on to the move puts an incredible amount of pressure onto their opponent, since it is very good to escape combos.
  • If the user uses Flame Pillar on a "hyperarmored" enemy, they won't get flung away, meaning that they will take much more damage than usual from it. This can deal insane damage alongside the burn, making Flame Pillar very deadly.
  • With a friend that uses the Gura Gura no Mi, them and the user can do a deadly combo on Dungeon bosses. For it to work, the user has to start charging their Dai Enkai: Entei. As the boss spawns, the Gura user sends their Sea Quake, stunning it, only to use Head Crusher. While the animation is playing, the user must send their Dai Enkai at the boss, then follow up with a Flame Pillar to finish it off. The boss should be defeated before the Head Crusher's animation even ends.
  • A good damage combo with Fishman Karate and Festival Lancer is M1 x5 (Fishman) + Festival Crash + M1 x5 (Fishman) + Water Prison (Aimed) + Fireflies (Aimed at opponent) + Hiken (Aim at the ground to hit with the AoE).
